Movie trailers are the perfect combination of creativity and manipulative marketing techniques. While feature-length films often disappoint, trailers almost never let you down, which is why we’ve created this blog as an homage to the form. Celebrate with us the glory of flawlessly-constructed two-minute narratives and expertly-chosen music, of authoritative voice-overs and deceptive editing. This is a blog for anyone who insists on arriving to the theater in time for the previews, for anyone who’s ever felt sad and watched a trailer on YouTube to cheer up. We understand.
The concept is simple: we post any trailer we like and provide a little commentary. Could be an upcoming release, could be from ten years ago. No rules, only trailers.
Who are we?
Kate Richardson is a student in NYC. She likes nature programs and Gulf Coast culture. She wishes she had the aptitude for things like marine biology and art history, but she has come to terms with the fact that she will never single-handedly save an entire species of marine mammals or curate a museum. Her favorite filmmaker is Alfonso CuarĂ³n, and she prefers red wine to white. She writes about tribute videos, among other things, for the one and only Idolator, and occasionally checks in at her long-time personal blog. She misses Texas.
Adena Rice is also a student in NYC. She thinks almost entirely in hypothetical questions, and loves dairy products. In accordance with her Midwest roots, she believes Chicagoland infomercials and swing sets are the spice of life. She is a film student with an unfortunate dislike for watching movies, but has a weakness for Tim Burton and musicals. She prefers the three-minute genre of entertainment, serving as a tribvid researcher and general youtube savant. This is her first true foray into blogs. One day, she hopes to be a nature videographer (unlikely), music video director (unlikely), or set decorator (unlikely). She misses her bike.
